Line Dance Lesson: The Shim Sham
Since we have an extra Wednesday this month, we will be having special class to learn the Shim Sham. The Shim Sham is a tap routine adopted by Swing dancers and is danced throughout the world. We try to play it at every social dance we host.

Line Dance Lesson: The Mama Stew
Right after the special Shim Sham class, we will be learning another line dance, the Mama Stew. The Mama Stew is a dance from the 60’s and is much more fast paced than the Shim Sham. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to have you in this class.

An Evening of Swing Featuring The Crystal Swing Band
Join NoCo Swing Dance every Saturday night throughout the summer at The Exchange for dancing and live music. Learn the basics of swing during the complimentary lesson and swing the night away to live music after. Bring the family, grab some dinner, ice cream, and have some swingin’ fun! This week’s live music will be presented by The Crystal Swing Band.

Upcoming Regular Classes and Events
NoCo Swing Progressive Lessons (August), Intro Swing
This class will introduce you to the wonderful world of East Coast Swing. No experience is required to take this course as we will start with the basic footwork and progress as the month goes on. This month’s progressives will be taught by Kali and Olivia.

NoCo Swing Progressive Lessons (August), Intermediate Swing
This class will build on the basics and expand upon movement and connection within the bounds of six count Swing. This class is great for those looking to expand their repertoire without the challenge of Lindy Hop. This month’s progressives will be taught by Kali and Olivia.

Lindy Hop Progressive Lesson Series with Kevin & Beth
Kevin & Beth will resume teaching a series of progressive lessons in the fall up in Laramie. The current planned topics are the Frankie Six, Charleston, and Swing Outs. For more information, please visit the sign up.

Special Events
OBC Swing Days of Summer
For the month of August, the social dances will be hosted at Odell Brewing Company in partnership with NoCo Swing. These events are special opportunities to celebrate community, dance, music, beer, and wine. In addition to a social dance, there will be a lesson and live music featuring Zizania Swingset and Jeremy Mohney. No partner is needed, and all experience levels are welcome.
