Special Sunday Dance at The Fort Collins Senior Center
Community dances are the bread and butter for continuing to build our amazing swing dance community. This month we are hosting an afternoon dance at the Fort Collins Senior Center. We will always have a beginner lesson at the start of the night. If applicable, we will also run a beginner plus or intermediate class in parallel if there is enough demand. No partner is needed, and all experience levels are welcome.
- Date & Time: Jul 12th, 4:00 PM lesson, 5:00 – 8:00 PM social dance
- Location: Fort Collins Senior Center
- Cost: $10 or what you can afford, includes lesson and dancing
Events This Week
NoCo Swing Progressive Lessons, Intro Swing
This class will introduce you to the wonderful world of East Coast Swing. No experience is required to take this course as we will start with the basic footwork and progress as the month goes on.
- Date & Time: Jul 8th, 6:30 – 7:30 PM
- Location: Northside Aztlan Community Center
- Cost: $20 per 4 class series

This class will introduce you to the wonderful world of Lindy Hop. No experience is required to take this course as we will start with the basic footwork and progress as the month goes on.

- Cost: $20 per 4 class series
If both progressive classes are taken, the second will be half price.
An Evening of Swing Featuring The Olde Town Swing Band
Join NoCo Swing Dance every Saturday night throughout the summer at The Exchange for dancing and live music. Learn the basics of swing during the complimentary lesson and swing the night away to live music after. Bring the family, grab some dinner, ice cream, and have some swingin’ fun! This week’s live music will be presented by The Olde Town Swing Band.
- Date & Time: Jul 11th, 6:30 PM lesson, 7:00 – 9:00 PM social dance

Friday Swing Dance at Club Tico

Line Dance Lesson: The Shim Sham
Since we have an extra Wednesday this month, we will be having special class to learn the Shim Sham. The Shim Sham is a tap routine adopted by Swing dancers and is danced throughout the world. We try to play it at every social dance we host.

Line Dance Lesson: The Mama Stew
Right after the special Shim Sham class, we will be learning another line dance, the Mama Stew. The Mama Stew is a dance from the 60’s and is much more fast paced than the Shim Sham. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to have you in this class.
